CBSE Chess Boys Tournament 2026

Mahavir Senior Model School, Rana Pratap Bagh, Delhi, proudly hosted the CBSE Chess Boys Tournament 2026 – Delhi Cluster from 31 August to 3 September 2026. The four-day championship witnessed participation from 214 schools and 1,889 young chess players across the Under 11, Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 categories.

The tournament commenced with an inspiring inaugural ceremony featuring ceremonial lamp lighting, the school choir, Navkar Mantra, CBSE Flag Hoisting and March Past. Principal Mrs. Ruchika Sukhija welcomed the gathering, while the Chief Guest, Shri Rajbir Gaur Ji, Ace Shooter, Delhi Police, motivated the young players to uphold integrity, determination and mental strength.

Throughout the championship, the young chess players displayed remarkable concentration, strategic thinking, discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship. The tournament culminated in a grand valedictory ceremony graced by International Arbiter Mr. R. S. Tiwari, FIDE Arbiter and Chief Arbiter Mr. Sandeep Chitkara, and International Arbiter & CBSE Observer Mr. Rupesh Kumar. The winning teams were felicitated with gold, silver and bronze medals by the Principal.

The successful championship reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing strategic abilities, character and sporting excellence among young learners.
