Atmospheric Sciences

 

An international talk show was organised on 23rd August 2022, Tuesday regarding atmospheric sciences for classes X, XI and XII by eminent speaker Dr. Piyush Garg.

Dr.Piyush Garg is an Atmospheric Scientist working on combining observations with AI to improve earth system models. He has received

  1.   Ogura Award for Outstanding Student Research
  1.  NASA Group Achievement Award
  2. Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Fellowship .

He talked about the uncharted waters of atmospheric sciences and  talked about his journey and

 what they do as federal atmospheric scientists at the US Govt Department of Energy .

He showed some examples of his research using satellites, numerical model simulations, supercomputers, and ground based sensors. He also discussed the overall career opportunities  in Atmospheric Sciences in India and abroad. He interacted and answered queries of the students.
